Pack it in, Pack it out!

I don’t understand why campers on holiday weekends tend to be so much more messy than campers the rest of the year.  Being drunk and enjoying oneself is no excuse for not packing it in and packing it out.  I was inclined to give the youngsters with whom I shared Stump Lake camp the benefit of the doubt, but some through-paddlers behind me posted these pictures of what was left behind (the kids who kept me up all night).  I am so dismayed by this.  The waterways themselves have been pretty clean, but the campsites have been the worst sites for plastic waste.  But where does that waste go?  It blows into the water!  Bits of food left on it encourage animals to come into camp, searching for food.  Not cool.  PACK IT IN—PACK IT OUT.
